What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive, holistic therapy that works on the feet or hands enabling the body to restore and maintain its natural equilibrium and encourage healing. Illness, stress, injury or disease, reduce the body to a state of “imbalance” preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology works on the feet to help heal the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms. Many people use reflexology as a way of relaxing the mind and body and counteracting stress, as this therapy helps us to cope on a physical, mental and emotional level thereby encouraging us to heal and maintain all areas of our lives.
It involves apply a gentle but firm pressure to specific reflex points on the feet (or hands) which relate to organs and systems within the the body. By working these points the elimination of toxins, release of hormones, relief of symptoms and overall effectiveness of the body’s balance is restored.
